Rebalancing Redox to Improve Biobutanol Production by Clostridium tyrobutyricum

Biobutanol is a sustainable green biofuel that can substitute for gasoline. Carbon flux has been redistributed in Clostridium tyrobutyricum via metabolic cell engineering to produce biobutanol. However, the lack of reducing power hampered the further improvement of butanol production. The objective of this study was to improve butanol production by rebalancing redox. Firstly, a metabolically-en...

Run-Through Stabilization: An MPI Proposal for Process Fault Tolerance

The MPI standard lacks semantics and interfaces for sustained application execution in the presence of process failures. Exascale HPC systems may require scalable, fault resilient MPI applications. The mission of the MPI Forum’s Fault Tolerance Working Group is to enhance the standard to enable the development of scalable, fault tolerant HPC applications. This paper presents an overview of the ...

Permeation study through bacterial cellulose membrane.

Abstract: The objective of this study was to fabricate topical formulations of diclofenac diethylamine (DD) using isopropyl myristate (IPM) and isopropyl palmitate (IPP) as permeation enhancers. Franz cell and bacterial cellulose were used as analytical instrument and diffusion membrane, respectively. Permeation enhancers exhibited significant effect on the permeation characteristics of DD. It ...

Membrane protein stabilization

sequences is therefore important for characterizing immune responses, but it cannot describe the state of cells within a given clone. Teichmann and colleagues present TraCeR, a tool that allows TCR sequences to be reconstructed from single-cell RNA sequencing data from T cells. The approach combines immune profiling with information on fate and function based on the expression of thousands of g...
